Isolate is refined to 90% purity and concentrate is only refined to 80%. Concentrate will have more lactose and other junk but it doesn't matter for most people. In terms of whey concentrates, they will have fat and lactose, whereas an isolate may still have a bit of fat and lactose, but not as much as a concentrate.
