As beetroot powder has a very strong flavour we recommend you mix it with water only. We recommend adding it to 250-400ml of water, and shaking or stirring until it is completely dissolved. Some people also like to add beetroot powder to vegetable juices or smoothies. We would not recommend adding it to any other flavoured products, but you could add unflavoured amino acids if they are part of your pre-workout stack.
One serve of BEET 500 beetroot powder is 25g or one heaped scoop. One tub of BEET 500 has 12 serves. For accuracy, we recommend weighing your serve with a set of scales.
Beetroot powder is best taken around 30 minutes before you train or race for maximum benefit. This gives your body time to start converting nitrate to nitric oxide.

Beetroot powder is generally safe and does not have medical side effects. Please be aware the consuming beetroot powder may result in pink urine in the short term. This is nothing to be alarmed about, it is just the beetroot pigment being processed from your body. The same thing would happen if you consumed a lot of beetroot in one sitting. Those who are sensitive to FODMAPS may experience some digestive discomfort taking beetroot powder. For this reason we would never recommend you take BEET 500 for the first time on race day, always trial it in training first! Like all supplements, it doesn’t hurt to consult a medical professional before taking it, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions.
