Strongmen athletes are a very unique ability of maximum human strength combined with functional movements. Unlike a power lifter who is lifting one weight in one motion for maximum weight, a strong man will be tasked with the challenge of moving some very heavy and often uncomfortable object or objects through a series of courses. For example pulling a truck a certain distance, or lifting multiple concrete balls over a specific heights. Therefore this sport does not only require a super human level of strength, but also an incredible capacity to endure that strength through multiple ranges of motion for a long period of time. As you could imagine this requires a significant intake of nutrients and supporting supplements to maximise recovery and strengthen the body to prevent injury.
To assist with muscle growth and aid in the overwhelming task of consuming thousands of calories every day, strong men will use protein powders which contain high quality calories and whey (XXXL Mass Gainer or WPC if they don’t want the carbs). Before training and events they will power themselves with a strong and competition safe pre-workout drink (PRE-30), and after all exercise use BCAA’s to ensure they are getting the fastest recovery and muscle repair. To prevent joint injury they consumer large amounts of fish oil capsules daily.
