We source the highest quality amino acids and similar products from pharmaceutical grade production facilities in China as do all leading supplement companies including Optimum Nutrition. To be honest, there are very few amino acid producers outside of China and their product quality and claims do not stack up when researched thoroughly. We only deal with credible and reliable international suppliers with who we have developed a great working relationship with over time. We regularly test our amino acid products to ensure their purity and quality.
Our L-carnitine and other products are blended and packed at our export-grade dairy production facility in North Brisbane.
We have dispatch warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. We dispatch via Australia Post and Fastway. Delivery takes 1-3 days in metropolitan regions when delivered by Fastway. Orders shipping Australia Post are subject to their usual delivery times.
L-carnitine is a naturally occurring compound produced within our bodies which is made from the two amino acids, lysine and methionine. Meat eaters consume it as part of their normal diet as it is found naturally in animal derived foods that we eat including meet and dairy.
L-carnitine plays several vital roles within our bodies including the transport of fatty acids into our cell mitochondria, our body’s power production plants, for oxidation and conversion into energy for our muscles to use. Our muscles rely on L-carnitine for energy production, and for this reason the greatest concentrations of L-carnitine are found in our muscles.
VPA L-carnitine is 100% L-carnitine L-tartrate which is the form of L-carnitine that best improves physical performance and enhances power output.
100% Pharmaceutical Grade VPA L-Carnitine may help increase metabolism, burn fat and provide valuable mental and cognitive support. Keep in mind that L-carnitine is not a miracle product, but when used in conjunction with a consistent exercise regime and well-controlled diet L-carnitine may help you burn fat at a greater rate and reach your weight loss goals faster.
L-carnitine comes in different forms, and each has their own benefits. Our product uses 100% L-carnitine L-tartrate, and this form of L-carnitine is the most rapidly absorbed, and therefore is of greatest benefit to sports performance.
The other common form of L-carnitine is Acetyl-L-carnitine, which is sometimes known as ALCAR. This form of L-carnitine is more readily able to cross the blood-brain barrier and have greater impact on cognitive performance.
L-carnitine helps with weight and fat loss and is a must-have staple for your fat burning stack. The degree to which it assists with fat loss seems to be greater in older people, and vegetarians and vegans.
Healthy and inactive people generally produce enough L-carnitine to not have to supplement with it. However, L-carnitine might be important for vegetarians and vegans who don’t get enough in their plant-based diets. People with diets low in animal products are adapted to absorb more L-carnitine and therefore a supplement can greatly increase levels within the body. Older people also have naturally lower L-carnitine levels so may benefit from taking a supplement.
Active people need more L-carnitine than inactive people. This is because they burn more energy and their cellular turnover of L-carnitine happens at a greater rate than inactive people.
VPA L-carnitine is the best L-carnitine supplement. This is because it is 100% L-carnitine L-tartrate, and this form of L-carnitine is the most rapidly absorbed, and therefore is of greatest benefit to sports performance.
Pure L-carnitine has a slightly bitter or sour taste. For this reason, people who use L-carnitine either mix it with very little water to shot it down, or add it to another VPA product or liquid to mask it’s flavour a little. L-carnitine can also have a slightly fishy smell, which is both normal and natural.
As pure L-carnitine unflavoured, it can be mixed with any other VPA products. However, please note that even though it has no added flavour, this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have any flavour at all. L-carnitine has a slightly bitter or sour taste, however most people don’t find it too bad! You can add L-carnitine to water, milk, juice, or electrolyte drinks - pretty much anything you want. Be aware you may still be able to taste it in these fluids. Many people add L-carnitine to their pre-workout before training, or to electrolytes during training for etc. The amount of liquid you add your L-carnitine to is up to you, but we do provide the guideline of 100ml.
One serve of VPA pure L-carnitine is 1g. One 200g tub of VPA L-carnitine has 200 serves. We recommend weighing a serve of L-carnitine with microscales to obtain an accurate serving size. If you do not have microscales, a flat standard teaspoon of l-carnitine is around 3.4g. ½ teaspoon will provide around 1.2g dose.
The optimal dose of L-carnitine is 1-4g grams daily. We recommend two 1g serves a day, taken before meals or before training, to optimize fat loss.
L-carnitine is best taken before a cardio session to maximise fat burning. Otherwise it can be taken twice a day, morning and night to encourage a higher rate of fat burning 24 hours a day.
If you are after a more comprehensive fat burning supplement, you might want to check out our Hyperburn FX . While L-carnitine is a critical ingredient of this fat burning product, it has various other ingredients that will help you on your fat loss journey. (https://www.vpa.com.au/products/hyperburner-fx)
The natural properties of amino acids means that they tend to take on moisture. This is why silicon moisture sachets are added during the packing process. Once your L-carnitine is opened it will start to take on moisture and should be stored in a cool dark location to keep it as moisture free as possible. If your L-carnitine starts to clump, rest assured that although it may be more difficult to scoop but it will still work just as well.
Unfortunately, we do not have samples of L-carnitine available. You can view our sample range here (https://www.vpa.com.au/category/sample-packs)
We sell 200g L-carnitine in plastic bottles, and 1kg L-carnitine in bags.
You can mix them together in the same shake or take separately but at the same time if you choose.
