Choc Protein Donuts with Strawberry & Cream Frosting

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF.

2. In a large bowl sift together the dry ingredients - almond flour, cacao, plant-based protein powder, baking powder, beet powder & pinch of salt.

3. In a separate bowl mix together the wet ingredients - mashed bananas, apple sauce, cashew butter, coconut sugar, dairy-free milk & vanilla essence.

4. Slowly add the flour mixture until combined. Use low setting if using a stand or electric mixer.

5. Spoon evenly into donut moulds (I use silicon) or a lined square tin.

6. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

7. Remove from oven and allow to cool before removing from moulds.

8. Frosting: Mix 1/2 can coconut cream, 1 tbsp strawberry plant-protein powder, 1 tsp strawb'ry & cream flavouring, 1/2 tsp beet powder, 1/2 tbsp maple syrup until light & fluffy. Use water from coconut cream to thin out until desired consistency. Decorate sprinkles, chocolate drizzle etc.
